Welcome To The Mime-O-Sphere

Hey everyone who’s reading this now or in the future, I’m Tommy Calmly of Mimes. I’m the primary MC of the group.

We’re an interesting bunch - at least if you ask the right people. It’s hard to stand out in a world filled with amazing music. We think we do a pretty good job of exactly that, and we hope you do too. But if we’re not your jam I hope you are able to hear again one day. I’m assuming you were in an accident.

Anyways, I’m going to introduce us real quick before adding a few words.

There are several of us. From Matt that I started the group with. He’s a great songwriter but left to pursue his own projects, to Jeff, a great friend who joined Mimes in the earliest days and never looked back. He is the drums and percussion. We have Nick, who I played live gigs with all the way back in high school, to Morgan, a friend and producer I met by being a studio rat at Postal Recording Studio in Indianapolis. And of course, Tyler and Alex (the owner-operators at Postal) produced and co-engineered our first studio album.

Each of us adds our own artistic elements to the mix. Songs we release are completely different, but are somehow obviously the same band. We call ourselves Mimes. And like the title of our self-publishing label, we consider ourselves Like-minded Mimes.

I always liked the idea of a rapping mime. It’s like eating hot ice cream.

Of course we could add in Stefan and Brandon. They are the designer and web developer (in that order) who make sure we have cool things to look at in real life and on the internet.

Brock at Axiom makes our super dope clothing. He’s an excellent, award-winning screen printer (Side note: Don’t worry. I was surprised there were awards in that industry as well). He’s also a great friend from back in my days at Purdue.

I’m sure there are others I could shout out, but for now, I just wanted you to know who we are.

I’ll be posting our music, parts of performances, and my thoughts on everything from philosophy, to literature, to politics, and TV shows. Probably a lot more, but who knows where that will go? I guess we’ll all have to stay tuned together.

I hope you enjoy all of these things we release in various formats. We’ll collectively continue working very hard to make sure they’re all as entertaining as we can make them.
